Fake John Pariss????

I was given a Pariss regal cue by a friend of mine at no cost, I'm not sure if it is a genuine one because its not in a very good condition. There are cracks above the joints and it's got a shiny substance on it which causes a lot of friction when I try to cue, on my very sweaty hands....which is not a very good combination at all. I feel like I have to wash my hands and clean the cue after every few shots. Can anyone help me to identify if this is a genuine John Pariss?
