Hello, and can you identify this cue?

Hi this is my first post, recently started playing again these last few weeks so dug out my cue. Can anyone identify it and offer any information? I'll post some pictures when I figure out how but I'll do my best to describe it, it is two piece ash with "Warwick" printed or written about three inches below the joint, it is mostly plain wood apart from a small bit of pattern on the butt which looks like it's dyed, blue, yellow, red then brown with a shield logo with HSC printed.

I know it's not ideal without pictures but I'll try and do it now. Ta.

Hello

I started playing snooker at 15 for about 3 years then stopped. I have just started again and really enjoying it. I have had to get myself a new cue. I got the cue second hand from a friend, but not sure if it's a good or bad cue. I am not sure of the maker. I'm not sure how to attach pictures at the moment, so I will describe the cue. It has a brass circular plate with 1 snooker ball at the top 2 snooker balls in the middle and another snooker ball at the bottom, then England underneath. I was wondering if this is a good cue to start again with?

Many thanks.

Hello, and a question from an elderly noob

Hi,
Happened to find your forum when searching for an answer to a question.
Back in the day when I was a competent club player I seem to remember that it was considered unsporting to create a snooker by rolling the cue ball up behind the object ball.
I know it's not against the rules but in the clubs and leagues where I played that kind of shot was not part of the repertoire.
However it seems that in the modern professional game it has become a potent weapon to be used whenever the cue ball ends up in baulk after a red has been potted.
Does professionalism demand that sportsmanship be abandoned?
