Hello all

Hey all, Just wanted to introduce myself and say hello.

I have been a good standard pool league player for a good 8 years or so now but I am quite new to snooker and even now I don't get a lot of time to practice, that being the main way of improving maybe I'll just play for enjoyment as and when until the babies are a bit older :)
So I'm at a pretty basic level, I've played a few games a week for about 10 months, managed a 37 once but that feels like a one off rather than a standard. Gotta say though that even with maybe an average of 2-3 games per week I am improving.
I had a single lesson with Stuart Carrington at the back end of last year to work on my stance mostly and a few weeks later he beat Ronnie O'Sullivan in the German masters so I felt my £15 was well spent and I certainly approach the table much more confidently though that being said, potting is my weakness, for some reason I prefer a cut over a straight shot (I know, I'm doomed to failure based on that approach) theres just something about the corner pockets, particularly black end and blacks in particular that I struggle with. I once hit about 20 blacks in and felt a bit better that day so I guess thats the key but with the little time I have I tend to revert to tactics, thats the side of the game I'm very confident with, I just seem to find the length and the line more often than not and then cherry pick the easy chances before running off to baulk to hide again.
Without a doubt that is playing to my strengths but sometimes I wonder if I'm doing my break building confidence much good by not just going for it? Though so long as I feel I'm improving month to month I guess I'm doing OK.
Anyway that's me and I have to say that I've just had a quick browse of the forums and I think I can learn a lot here :)
When I get around to it I guess finding a few good ideas of break building drills will be my priority, getting time to implement them will be my next challenge Lol
