Wasteing Precious Hours

I was practicing the other night and after about an hour I realized that what i was doing was just hitting balls around and not learning anything useful I have a bare structure to my practice and I was wondering how other members approach their practice to utilize the hours they have and get the most out of them on the practice table ??
